Corner View: Beaches

We don't have any ocean beaches in Utah.  We do have a few lakes though.  My very favorite lake is a good 6 hour drive away, but it is worth every minute.  Some of my very favorite memories are at Lake Powell.  Early morning and dusk water skiing are heaven.  The combination of the red rock against the water and blue sky makes my heart melt.  It gets rather warm in the summer, so the water feels like a bath tub.  Our days are spent cliff jumping, water skiing, wakeboarding, hiking, tubing, jet skiing, getting tan and laughing constantly.  I absolutely love Lake Powell

Sand castles are always fun.
Pierre is the water skiier in our family.
He wakeboards too.
Ah, that gorgeous rock.

Lake Powell, with a nice ice cream cone & loved ones may be heaven on earth.
You have to add the ice cream though.

Go and lounge at some beaches from around the world:

I much prefer the lake to the beach, but that could be because I grew up near a lake... plus you don't have to deal with sand in your bathing suit or getting stung by jellyfish. Great post!

Gorgeous pink rocks rising from the calm blue water: a 6 hr drive is definitely well worth it!

i miss the lakes from my childhood and the waterskiing that we did. great action shots, and how wonderful to make sand castles amidst all that rock.

Do you know that I have only seen Lake Powell from Page, AZ I have never set foot in the lake itself. We should go there as well as the GSL, just say when.

I didn't get around to your corner view last week. but i have to comment on your beaches post because I've been to and love Lake Powell too. I've probably been to the opposite end than you have tho, as I live in Arizona. It's been several years since i was there and have really been thinking about it lately. It's so beautiful!
